oh, and I should probably finally reply to this: I don't have the faintest idea what I'm doing in Berlin, but it seems to be working well. I have a little bit of work doing english-language proofreading, for the short term. If it's any consolation, despite my messing up the whole Lords thing, there's no chance I would have got out of England without it. So thanks.
